can we install without wordpress

do we have to have wordpress to install classipres or can we just install on a new database mysql?

Yes, you need to have an instance of WordPress installed in order to use ClassiPress which is a premium WordPress theme. It will not work without it.

hi thanks pepsi for getting back to me, im a bit slow but i catch on fast, my thing is i have a forum but room for another mysql database, i would like to link my forum to this classified from my forum, thing is will some one have to see some sort of blog aswelll or can it go straight into clasipress, is wordpress some sort of controll pannel in the database, im a bit confused if you could point me in the right direction that would be fantastic.

There is a blog function built into ClassiPress, but your ClassiPress installation will by default, look like the ClassiPress demo in terms of its appearance as a Classifieds website (not primarily a blog).

WordPress is the platform on which ClassiPress runs.. so yes, all the admin/back end of the site is WordPress.. you can see how this looks/works from the ClassiPress admin demo.

What you wish to achieve is very straightforward, and if you're not concerned about linking user accounts from the forum to the ClassiPress installation, it is even easier. Effectively you're installing WordPress/ClassiPress in a subdirectory:

www.yourdomain.com <=== Your forum (presumably your main homepage)
www.yourdomain.com/classifieds <=== WordPress installation with ClassiPress

Create the links between the two, and that's it.
