can a store be in more than one categories?

Are stores sub-categorories of other categories?

The stores are done through Wordpress custom taxonomy and so they are not sub-categorories of other categories.

During submission the posters can select one category per coupon/store but the admin can assign it to different categories in the backend.

I dont think that you can mapped a STORE to any category.

It's the coupon which is mapped to categories. i also suggest that you mapped the coupons to best suited category (one category) only.
because if you try to map it more than one categories, then the display will leave a space always.

it can be, but jomarkosabel, it'll display very odd.
because system only works with one category.
one can still map to two categories, but after one category, it'll offer you an ODD space, because this theme is designed to display just category.

so if we force to display more than one category, it'll never show up the icon as prefix, and leave an odd space before that.
