Hi,
I'm looking for a classifieds script (mainly for selling books) and I wanted to know if Classipress would be the right one. Does it have some of these features:

Customizable options for listing books.
The ability to create different geographic areas with the same categories (like on craigslist).
Allow users can login with Facebook or Google accounts.
Integrated payment (PayPal or such) for buying ads or the products in the ads.
The ability to connect the listings to an external database or to export all or some listings to another format (like csv).

Later, I would also want to add integration with Amazon or Oodle. Would it be straightforward to modify the script so I can add relevant information from those sites inside the classifieds? For example, if a user searches for a book, it will also display Amazon results.

P.S.
Do they have any discounts available for college students?

Also, are the other classifieds themes legal competitors with classipress or are they copyright-infringing clones?

You could definitely use ClassiPress for listing books, however some of the features you are looking for would be customizations to the theme which you would have to do yourself or perhaps in some cases, plugins.

There will be a filter widget implemented in a future release of ClassiPress which allows more advanced searchablility. There is another release due out soon, but I'm not sure if it is to be included in that one yet?
Facebook login has been discussed here and I believe there are people successfully using a plugin to allow this (I'm not sure about Google).
The only payment option included with ClassiPress is to pay to list the ads themselves, not the actual items listed.. again this is a customization.
There are threads discussing exporting databases if you search these forums.

Whether or not you can achieve all these things really comes down to your own coding knowledge, because ultimately ClassiPress is not encrypted and therefore allows you to make whatever changes you wish.

You are correct, there are no partners/other websites who are legally selling ClassiPress, so if you don't purchase it from here then it won't be officially licenced. Just a note too, these forums will be changing in the near future to verified members only access, so people who have purchased or obtained CP via other methods will not be able to seek support here.
