    ClassiPress to my current website.

Can I add ClassiPress to my current established website? If so how??

I am looking to install a user friendly classifieds program with PayPal capabilities to my site, I am hoping that ClassiPress will work for me.

Thank you for any help!!! :P

    Hey buddy,

Firstly is your current website wordpress?

From my knowledge classipress is a stand alone template system which cannot be integrated to another site. You could however install it in a new directory and share the users :)

Correct. If you have a regular site with just plain html pages you can just install WordPress in a subdirectory like so.

    http://www.yoursite.com

    http://www.yoursite.com/classifieds/ <--WordPress installed here

Konvict...how do you share members? A plugin or is that built into WP already? I have never heard of that.

Re: ClassiPress to my current website.

    Hi there

I am also wanting to use classipress on an existing website.

However I am using wordpress, so how could i keep my current page structure and plug in classipress to deeper page levels where classified info is found?

    My website is http://rugbycupnz.com

Any advice would be much appreciated.

    Cheers
    Simon

    Hi Simu55
You can only use one theme per WordPress install at a time. So basically, David's advice above to use a new WP install in a sub-directory, should work for you too.

Then there's just the small matter of adding your classifieds to your main menu (assuming you want that). You could hard code the link in your template, but I would just create a blank page called Classifieds (thus adding the menu item), and then do a 301 redirect to your classifieds. There is a great plug-in that will do the redirect for you here: http://urbangiraffe.com/plugins/redirection/

    Hope this helps.

Re: ClassiPress to my current website.

Thank you for your feedback. If this is posted in the wrong topic I apologise...

I want to add in Classsipress that I have now purchased in a sub directory as recommended above.

I am using C-panel and preferably Fantastico, however I am unsure of how to add the 2nd sub-directory without wiping my current website. I want classipress to sit at: http://rugbycupnz.com/accommodation

Can this be done through Fantastico ie - via the process in this image, or do I have to go through a manual installation in C-panel? Any further feedback would be great!

Yes you should be able to specify the directory you wish to install the other instance of WP in during the install process. Can't see the image you posted though?
