can i post multiple advertisements on a side bar or i am only limited to 1 size box where i can use google adsense?
also , can i make user registration optional?

The sidebar is widget based and so you can create as many widgets as you can.
By default, user registration is required and to make it optional will require some code modification. However this has been requested at the Ideas Exchange page http://ideas.appthemes.com/forums/84267-classipress of which you may vote for.
