This kind of functionality can easily be added with the use of a plugin, some of which are suggested on our
recommended plugins page. ClassiPress was the first of our themes created and I don't believe social media sharing was as big of a deal back when it was designed as it is now. Since plugins have always done the job fine for this particular function, it was probably just not deemed necessary to built the function in later on, I imagine. Thanks.
