    Common Login table

I still haven't bought classipress. But am going to as soon as I clear out some probable issues with my requirement. I plan to use classipress for a community site. So its going to have a blog, a forum, a job site and classifieds all rolled into one. Now what I would really love to have is a common login. Ie each user should have a single login for all areas of my site. If he logins from any of the section's he should be logged into all areas without re login or separate login id's for each section. Is there some way I can make classi press use a common user table say the wordpress user table? For example bbpress can be integrated to use the same login as wordpress. Can I do so for classipress also?

    Re: Common Login table

On second thoughts for specifically my use would it be possible to use the main wordpress site's login table instead of the the wordpress user table for classipress installation. Then I guess we would have bridged the classipress login with that of the main wordpress site. Then if I apply the phpbb bridge for the main wordpress that too would work. But is this possible? I still am researching for my implementation and therefore as I do not have access to a classipress installation Im not sure wether what Iv suggested would work

    Re: Common Login table

I've never tried authenticating a classipress login instance against another WP instance. I'm sure it could work but the only problem I see would be the ad author not mapping over properly and also a possible cookie security problem.

I don't want to promise you something and then you buy classipress and it doesn't work so here's what I recommend.

Install two versions of wordpress just like you would with classipress and see if you can get the cross authentication working. It comes down to it more being a wordpress limitation vs a classipress one.

Would be interested to hear how your test turned out.

    Re: Common Login table

I tried doing it today after some research and have now successfully integrated two wordpress installations to use a common login so it works. I have made my demo site http://www.kochidaily.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and http://www.kochidaily.com/jobs" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; to have a common login that need to be used only once to access both sites. The whole procedure is a bit long but Iv posted it on my blog and you can view it here http://kiranthomman.com/setting-sing...single-domain/

Glad it worked and thanks for posting your results! So do you have any other questions before you decide to buy ClassiPress?

    Re: Common Login table

I already bought the theme today although just the basic version for testing. As there are lots of other things I would need sorted out before I can use the theme. Hopefully most things would be sorted out by next release. Iv got my fingers crossed till mid May awaiting you next release. In the mean time I'm out of this section and will prob update on Feature Requests. Thanks for a wonderful theme.
