Is that official reply from David? If not, I'm still keen on updates/response directly from David as the owner himself seeing that WPCP is a one man company :D

The new Classipress certainly looks promising, however, as mentioned before, we need to clarify those things first as we've jumped through hops searching on trying different similar software that suit our needs but haven't found one like classipress.

Best, That's a quote from David's website, it's like he said it himself so I would take it as such.
I purchased now knowing that I would be getting the 3.0 version at the current rate.

Just as Pepsi pointed out, updates will be free for whatever CP license you own. Of course you can always upgrade later but the prices will be higher after 3.0. The developer license will also include a true Photoshop .psd file which means your designer has the raw site design and can customize it with ease.
