Disadvantages of installing earlier versions of ClassiPress?

Hi there,

I like the earlier version of ClassiPress, with the horizontal ad listings down the frontpage.

I am thinking about installing an earlier version, but an skeptical because:

1. It may have security issues (hackers)

2. There may be valuable features on newer versions that the older ones don't have

3. How would that work in with upgrades etc? If i have earlier version installed due to "look and feel", would installing upgrades change layout?

Please comment.

Or

Could it be possible to have the most recent version customized so that it looks like an earlier version? (sorry to rattle on, but i am particular about how i want my site to look).

The codes are also optimized in the latest version.

I don't really understand what you mean? Could you please clarify?

It means it is more leaner as some codes that requires heavy handling of functions were removed or cleaned. Thus it is faster theoretically.

Ah, okay. But, i don't like the look and feel of the new one. Is it possible to customize it so it looks like the old version? I like the simplicity and the horizontal ad display on the Frontpage.

I get your point that the new version is better in terms of functionality.

You can definitely customize the look through css and some php coding.
