Display store coupons in coupon type order

Hi all, I am a developer and working on my client clipper theme. I've created 2 types of coupons i.e 'coupons codes' and 'promotions'. When a user selects a store, I want to display the coupons of 'coupon code' type first and then 'promotion' type. I don't want to use any widgets. Please let me know the query which sorts coupons by type.
