Hi there,

Is it possible to have a category like 'Events' appear with its own button in the navigation of Classipress plus customise the 'post an ad' form to have a date field instead of title field etc just for that one category? I don't need google maps etc. just simple Events Date, Title and body text.

Similarly - can jobs be posted with custom form altered to suit without having to use Jobroller? Sounds like Vantage will be way to content rich - is it even possible to have a site running Classipress, vantage, jobroller etc efficiently? If you have one please post the link :-)

I will be using mingle forum - anyone know any integration issues with this?

Looks like a great theme and support team so would really love to buy this for use in the site we will be launching, but need to confirm these features first...

Oh and I would like to be able to send an RSS feed of latest posts in category order out to a mailing list by email. Mailchimp allow RSS emails but does classipress generate a feed?

Calender of Events Listing

I would like to run an area calendar for my customers. Related events could be added and paid for, and then posted by event date.

Is this in the works?

I dont work for appthemes but i will try to help you the best i can.

1.yes you can make a category called Events and give it as much attention as you want. with a little code edit you can give events its own tab on the front page. (like the, just listed, most viewed, and random)
2. You can edit the forum your clients will fill out. each catagory can have its own forum with different questions that are more relevant to the category. I would suggest a small code edit to to make the price tag a date tag to show your vewers the date right next to the title.

Yes mingle forums runs perfect. (I run them myself). You can get rid of the Map if you want to. But you might want to show the location of the event.

I omitted to say that the events category page would need to display the events in Events date order - not the order they are placed in...is this also a simple tweak?

Any comments on RSS appreciated or any other way that classifieds could be displayed in an email...

there is a rss feature but i dont really use rss so im nto sure how it all works. The reason you are seeing that on other forums is because the rest of the forums are only open to paying customers. Once you buy a theme you will have access to the forums

This is an excellent idea! In addition to it being a bulletin board of sorts, the user should also be able to pre-register for the events by submitting an online form via jobroller. It’s a great way to keep people coming back!

i would suggest waiting for Vantage. They said that Events wont be in the first release of Vantage but it is for sure coming in a later release.

Oh blimey! Can't wait really as I hear the wait could be interminable...shame the demo doesn't let you post an ad or create an Events form to see how it all functions. Am thinking of paying someone I know to create these elements for me as an add on to Classipress or is that not allowed...?

Also it's a bit silly not to be able to see the forum threads because solving these problems means I'll go ahead and buy the product...sorry to whinge!

Is the rss thingy in the demo somewhere?
