A few pre-sales questions

Hi,

I have a few pre-sales questions... hopefully someone might be able to answer them.

1) I will want to ad a few custom fields to the registration page (I believe this can be done with some simple editing of the registration page, or a plugin). Once I have done this - am I then able to pull that information into the Post Ad page? (for example - the location, phone number, etc. will be automatically filled out based on the user registration information?

2) Is it possible to ad some extra validation on the Post Ad page? I want to make sure the price is a numeric...

3) When someone "Pauses" an ad - does it still auto expire? For example - if they sell the item, do they simply log in and Pause the ad... and it will still expire after the X number of days? Or will it stay Paused forever?

4) Is there a way to have a "Delete My Account" link on the My Dashboard page?

5) Is it possible to remove the Google Maps all together?

Oh, also 6) How does ClassiPress handle duplicate filenames for uploaded images. Are images named with a timestamp to prevent duplicate filenames?

1) I believe there are a number of CP users who are using the registration plus plugin for their sites to allow additional fields during the registration process. You can also find a few threads relating to setup from there such as these:

3) Pausing the ad will cause the ad to go into draft status and will no longer be visible in the ad listings.

4) I'm sure there is a way you could achieve this with enough coding knowledge. I don't recall seeing any other CP members post anything about this before, so perhaps you could be the first ;)

5) If you don't want to use Google maps, then just leave the Google API field blank in the CP settings and the tab won't be there.

6) Images which are uploaded are automatically renamed using a number format, so they won't duplicate.

Re: number 3) - so once someone has sold an item, can they simply log in and Pause the ad to remove it from the listings? Are these ads then purged at a later date so that old posts dont clog up the users Dashboard (and the database?)

Yes, that's correct - they can pause the ad themselves once an item is sold. It will remain in the user dashboard though, so you possibly go through and delete any outstanding drafts manually.. otherwise you'd be looking at some sort of customization to achieve it automatically.
