    A few questions about classipress

    Hello,
I have a few questions about classipress,

    1. has it got but it now button ?
    because on here appthemes.com/themes/classipress/
it says "Choose from three different pricing models – fixed, percentage, or category"
and in order to charge a percentage i thought it must have a buy it now button, but after researching, i thought that it did not have one ?

    2. can it / does it include recurring payments for adverts ?
so that ads are repeated every month ? i.e. an adverrtiser will bokk an advert, and that advert is repeated each month (or however long it is booked for, and their paypal (or whatever method of payment they use) account is charged each month.

    3. can area/location categories go on subdomains ?
i.e. as in backpage, so "california" category would go on a subdomain, and everything under california i.e. "pets for sale" etc would go on a page under that subdomain.

    4. can they add a video to adverts ?

    5. can we charge for extras - i.e. to add more videos, or more pictures etc

    In answer to your questions:

    1. No, there is no "Buy Now" button in ClassiPress as it is not designed as an eCommerce theme where you can purchase items directly from the site. The "Percentage of sellers ad price", pricing model is applied during the listing process, not after the sale of an item, and is paid before the item is listed.

    2. Recurring payments is not a specific feature included in ClassiPress at this time, but is planned for a future release of the theme.

    3. ClassiPress does not have this capability by default, so creating subdomains for various locations would require use of a WordPress multisite network and additional customization on your part at this time. It is something that other customers have done to achieve a Craigslist-type setup.

    4. Customers can add YouTube embedded code into ad descriptions, however video uploading is not a default option.

    5. There are no options to charge specifically for the number of images, so this would require customization. Thanks.

Thank you for your response Pepsi,
"2. Recurring payments is not a specific feature included in ClassiPress at this time, but is planned for a future release of the theme."

do you know when this is going to be added then ?

is there a plugin, or a way round this then ?

i will have to look at this to see what it involves codex.wordpress.org/Create_A_Network

    thank you Pepsi

There was also one other question, is there an overide function (or whatever name)
this is so that i can charge for adverts to be put in , but also include my own adverts for free, so that adverts go into the site under another username than "site admin" (or so that it is not obvious they are my adverts) but these adverts are not charged for.

    thanks

and another question, why are all of the sites in the examples shown only very low user sites, i.e. they all have very low amounts of users and are very small sites ?

It has been indicated that recurring payments options could be available in ClassiPress v3.4, and given that v3.3 has just been released with the likelihood of other 3.3.x releases in between, there unfortunately isn't an indication of when this will be at this time.

AppThemes does not officially support third party plugins, so we are not aware of any eCommerce plugins which would definitely allow this functionality to the theme that are compatible "out of the box". You can find a child theme in the AppThemes marketplace called Commerce & Classifieds which is styled for use with the WooCommerce plugin. More details can be found on that marketplace page, and if you have further questions about it, you can ask the child theme developer directly on the comments section of that page.

You can easily create a different user account for this purpose in the WordPress admin dashboard, create the ad as the admin, and then assign it to the user.

Not sure if you're referring to the customer showcase, but this is a very small representation of customers using our themes who have allowed us to feature their sites in the showcase. There are larger sites included, as well as those of other sizes. Thanks.

sorry , i was tired at the time and misunderstood your response, i was looking for a theme that had an option/capability to buy items directly from the site - (that were advertised by other people) as well as having classifieds on the site - so when placing an advert then there would be an option to buy the item - and i would get a commission, or this could be left empty by the person placing the advert.

some adverts are suitable for classifieds only - and would not be able to be bought online - and some products are ok to be sold online - i wanted to give/have the option of both - and this may/could be dependent on the categories of the adverts.

have you any ideas for this ?
because i have searched on the net and cant find anything suitable - i had a look at woocommerce, but isnt that just for the website owner to sell their own items, i wanted it for the public to sell their own items + place classifieds (after registering on the site)

Ultimately what you describe in terms of your requirement for users to be able to purchase items off each other from within the theme is not something that ClassiPress offers. The only payment functionality built into the theme is for posting ads, not for actual item sales/transactions.

We don't offer customization services at AppThemes, however we do have a certified partners page where you can find developers for hire. If you make contact directly with an outline of your requirements, they can provide a quote for the work. Thanks.
