    heavy load

    Hi,

I'm looking for a classifieds solution for my website and I came across this post:
    http://osclass.org/blog/2012/05/11/o...ssifieds-site/

They say that the WordPress database structure is not optimized for heavy transaction based database queries. Too much of the information is in a single table, which is ok for blog publishing purposes but can prove disastrous for a classifieds platform, which uses mainly transactional queries as opposed to selective queries.

    how true is that claim?

Many thanks in advance for your help

We appreciate your concerns based on reading the link, but ultimately the statements in the blog post are the opinions of just one person. Others have had different experiences with our themes. It's known that search can become a little sluggish when there is a huge amount of data but otherwise, our themes should be able to handle it. Hosting of course can influence overall performance as well, and articles such as this are useful for explaining more about how to manage high traffic sites.

There are benefits to using a WordPress based solution. Ease of set up and management. Availability of third party plugins. WP does SEO better and there are some very good SEO plugins. We are of course happy for a customer of ours to have achieved success with their website whilst using ClassiPress :)
