Hesitant on purchasing due to "Major feature release"?

I want to setup a directory as-soon-as possible; however would it make sense to create everything now BEFORE the major feature release?

What would happen to the directory if I created it now and upgraded it? Would the pages get messed up? would the profiles change a lot?

Should I invest my time now or wait? I really don't know what to expect in this new update so a little extra info would be helpful.

If you are planning to modify the default theme, we absolutely recommend the use of a child theme, as this will minimize the risk of losing all of your changes in the process of an upgrade. When it comes to upgrading, you shouldn't expect to lose data or pages, but we still always recommend a full backup before you proceed with any upgrade.

Ultimately it's up to you if you want to start working on your project now, and potentially re-check/re-work some of your modifications when the next release comes out, but if you really aren't making any changes to the default theme then it's less of an issue. Thanks.

Can you please further explain sortable listings pages?

It means that listings can be sorted by different criteria such as: newest, most popular, alpha order, etc.

You can see an example of how this may look in from this screenshot below as a "Sort Listings" button near the top of the listings themselves:

About the map on Homepage

I want to know if I will be able to replace the map on the Home page with a featured slider?
Does it work with any slider plugins at the moment?
Is it possible to create a price field for the listing? Can the user/customer list a price for the listing (service or product).

Does this theme work with OpenID signin or similar?

There is no encryption which would prevent you from making modifications to the theme layout if you wish. In doing so, we would recommend the use of a child theme so that you don't lose all of your changes in the process of an upgrade. AppThemes does not officially support third party products, so we unfortunately cannot guarantee that all plugins will be compatible with our themes. You could create a price field using the custom forms functionality, but you would likely want to modify the layout further if it's specifically for products. There is no eCommerce functionality built into the theme though, so by default you wouldn't be able to sell items online via the theme.

Add-ons and child themes for Vantage can be found in the AppThemes marketplace, and there are some recommendations for plugins here which you could use for signing in by other methods. Thanks.

How does the multiple categories effect featured listings?

For example, if featured in category 1 will it make the listing featured in category #2 as well?

Also, will the multiple categories be an add-on, which allows them to purchase multiple categories/listings?

Featured listings options are already separate from normal listing prices, so I don't imagine this will change much aside from additional options for being able to feature at the top of multiple categories as well. The specifics of these changes are not yet available outside of what was mentioned, and details are still being finalised/tested at this time. Thanks.
