You can certainly use two themes on the same site, perhaps using a
WordPress multisite setup if desired. In terms of buddypress, we don't officially support third party plugins, so unfortunately cannot guarantee that they will be compatible with our themes out of the box. It should be expected that you'd require some amount of customization in order for it to function correctly. Thanks.
