    Home Page

Hi. I'm ready to purchase this theme but I would like to know one thing. Is it possible to make the blog page the home page? I'd like for visitors to see the blog posts first. They would then need to select the Categories tab to view the directory. Is this possible?

    Thanks

Within WordPress you can set a "static homepage" in the General options, so you can effectively change this to the blog. You should note though that the theme is not designed to use a static page by default and you may need to make some modifications in order for certain links to work correctly if you choose to do this.

    Pepsi,

Thanks for the reply. Here's another question. My plan is to use the directory aspect of this theme to organize downloadable files. All of the files will be free because my plan is to develop a free teacher resource site. Visitors would need to sign in to the system before they could download any files though. Also, I'd like them to have the ability to upload files once they have a membership. It looks like this theme will allow me to achieve this goal as far as organizing the files and requiring memberships. However, I'm not sure if it has a feature that allows for someone to navigate to a category, select a file within that category (doc, pdf, ppt, etc.), and then download the item. Is this possible?

    Thanks

Also, what's the difference between Home Page Layout options within admin? One is Directory Style and the other is Standard Style. I was originally thinking (hoping) that Standard Style meant that visitors would see blog posts first and then have to navigate to the directory. Is this not the case?

Thanks again and I apogize for all the questions.

Wow! 46 views and no answer to my follow up questions? And I'm a potential customer. That makes me wonder what the support will be like after I purchase.

What you have described is outside the scope of what the theme can do by default, so would require customization on your part. Technically yes it is possible, but ultimately this is based on your level of coding knowledge (or that of your developer)..

The Directory style means that the Ad categories appear as a list underneath the featured ads slider on the main index page (as you can see from the ClassiPress demo), whereas the Standard Style allows you to remove the Ad Category box from that position.

Thanks for your response. I've purchased the theme and I'm working on modifying it. I think it will work well for what I'm trying to do. Thanks again.
