    How many sub-categories deep?

How many sub-categories deep are permitted in ClassiPress?

I see from the demo there are parent and child categories, but is it possible to create grandchild categories?

Yes it is possible to create grandchild categories and there are no limits as it's all set using WordPress functionality.. The only thing I would add, is although you can physically create these grandchild categories, they currently appear as child categories on the menu or category dropdown on the homepage.

Pepsi - is there a plan to change it so at least one level of grandchild will come in both the menu and dropdown? Or do you know someone who has posted a fix to make it happen? I have a very specific classified site for those in the horror film industry. I have one main category as "Production". Under that I have "Office", "Set", etc. Under "Office" I have "UPM", "Producers", "Exec Producers" etc. Right now, when you click on Office, the sidebar lists the grandchild categories perfectly, but on the main page and menu bar, the grandchild categories list ABOVE the child categories, which is completely unusable. I can change the order of them within the child or grandchild group, but can't put grandchildren under their parent.

If anyone has solved this, please, please, please let me know! I almost went with a different product because of this very issue. (That theme crashed my site, however, so I came back, but I still need some control over this.)

@howl - To be honest I'm not sure, but I too would like to see this happen. I will see what I can find out from our development team and will update..

P.S. My solution to the listing of child and grandchild categories correctly was to only show parent categories on both the main page and the pull down so they only see the children and grandchildren on the sidebar of the parent category page.

I had to use the "My Category Order" plugin because the "Category Order" didn't change the order on either the front page or the pull down.

The order is listed correctly in the search box, but not quite in all the other pull down boxes, but I can live with that for the moment. At least the children and grandchildren are listed under their proper parent in those, even if they're a bit out of order.

I will be VERY happy if future updates include the ability to have grandchildren on the pulldown and on the main page and that we can order the categories on both (and in the pull downs) the way we want to.
