    JobRoller Connect to other DB

I have a client, who is part of a much larger recruiting firm that maintains a database of job candidates and resumes and available jobs they have posted on behalf of their client. The DB is on a Microsoft server. We built him a WordPress front-end site that currently has one page I-framing a window into their job listings by category. What we want to do is setup something like JobRoller where job candidates can
    • Register
    • Submit their resumes and manage their info and criteria
    • Follow job categories
    • Search jobs by various criteria
    • Maybe add jobs to a que of positions they are interested in
    • Get notified when new jobs are posted to those categories
    • Request to be considered for them if they so choose.

My client handles all the job postings and candidate research (within their own system) on behalf of their company clients, so their client never really uses this part of your system.

I believe JobRoller can be setup to handle all of this and just want to confirm with someone. I also want to confirm that it will be possible to pull the available jobs into this DB from the Microsoft one...maybe a daily XML export/import... How would we do this, and do you know if your system has been used for something similar in the past. Its not as big a deal to push the job applicant data to their system, as I believe they want to review submitted data and build the candidate into their system separately.

    Thanks,
    Damien Nelson

JobRoller offers all of the features you listed in various forms:
Register - Yes, WordPress user registration functionality
    • Submit their resumes and manage their info and criteria - Yes, Job Seekers can input their resume and manage this through their dashboard
    • Follow job categories - Job Seekers can use job alerts or subscribe to the RSS feed for specific categories
    • Search jobs by various criteria - Users can use the search fields and "Browse by" options to search for jobs
    • Maybe add jobs to a que of positions they are interested in - Job Seekers can "star" jobs as favorites which appear in their user dashboard
    • Get notified when new jobs are posted to those categories - See response to "Follow job categories"
    • Request to be considered for them if they so choose - Job Seekers can apply for jobs on the job listing page

JobRoller does not currently have a built in import tool, so importing data would likely involve some knowledge of mysql admin in order to ensure information is migrated into the correct location, particularly as JobRoller uses WordPress custom post types, and listings are not regular "posts". Thanks.
