Language Packs

I hear a lot of things about language packs being available, fully operational throughout the site, complete and accurate translations BUT this is all too often NOT the case!

Can you give any advise regarding the translations available, primarily the Portuguese translation file. Portuguese Portuguese or Brazilian Portuguese?

If the variation of language that you are looking for is not listed you have the option to do the translation. There's a guide on how to do it yourself on the link above.

If the translation is complete and in European Portuguese then great but if not it is quite a bit of work to translate fully into European Portuguese!

If you could let me know I would really appreciate it or perhaps let me know of some European Portuguese sites that are using the translated file?

I could not know the variations because some of the language packs are user submitted and I don't know much about the Portuguese language either. Some classipress users are also not sharing their sites url for some obvious reason.

The best thing to do to find out the language is to download the portuguese language pack and check it yourself using a notepad application or the translation application, poedit, http://www.poedit.net/ .

I tried to download the Portuguese file to verify the content but it tells me to be logged in to download?

Sorry for that as access to the file is only allowed for registered members. Anyway, I will try to look for some users who are using the Portuguese language pack and are willing to share their url.

Hmmm and then I read that Classipress will not work properly if other language is used! Something to do with sidebar widgets! Fixed in the latest version I believe but not much good for 3.0.2

I think it has been fixed already in the latest version 3.0.3 .
