migrating from Classi to Vantage

I love the look of your products!


1. Possibly absurd, I know, but... if I get started with Classi, then want to switch to Vantage when it launches (because this is the one I really want), is it possible to migrate the files over?

2. Also, can you offer the quick "dummies" version to getting started (or comments on my outline below). I have other wordpress sites, but am starting something new for a biz listing (classifieds if I must for now)... is this the logical chronology?

1. secure domain (it's international, so can't buy with my bluehost.com account)
2. point all to bluehost.com for hosting
3. launch via bluehost/wordpress CMS
4. purchase/download app theme
5. customize as needed & launch

Any basic steps missing there?

And lastly, I'm trying to decide between a one-theme or club purchase and wonder if you could offer any hints at future themes your are considering/starting on to help me weight my options/possibilities more, i.e. help convince me of a club theme? No timelines needed (I see all the uproar over Vantage!!! :) ).

I've seen it noted in some of your thread comments, Pepsi, that appthemes will be moving to an annual subscription model. Can you you offer when-abouts that might be? Thanks! - Heather

1. I know there are a few people who had/have the same thing in mind, to move over from ClassiPress to Vantage when it is released, however I'm not aware of any specific plans to implement a built in migration feature to make this an automatic process. I will have to ask about the possibility of this and let you know. If there aren't plans, then I imagine that the alternative would be to run a custom sql query to migrate any fields from the database side.

2. Your steps are correct. I wasn't aware of the issue of purchasing international domain names from Bluehost, but if you have already checked this out then I'm sure it's true

3. There are definitely plans for future themes, but outside of what is shown on our Themes page, I don't have any additional information about what these might be I'm afraid.

All I know is that the annual subscriptions are happening soon, I don't have an exact date sorry. It's very close though from my understanding though.

Migration from classipress to vantage!!

I think this will be the case for many people.

I'm already running classipress but I Vantage will fit my needs perfectly.

please encourage the development team to add this feature!

but i believe they dont offer customization if i am not wrong.

It's not a customization if it's part of the theme. What the other posters are suggesting is that our development team build such a migration function in to Vantage.
