Multilanguage switching support?

A couple of questions regarding multilingual support:

1) If I translate the POT file to support an alternative(s) language and also maintain the English version, is there a way to configure the site to support both languages? By this I mean would it be possible to configure the site so that visitors can select what language they want to view and have it remain as such via a browser cookie?


2) Is it possible to extend the default POT file to include the values I configure for custom field selectable options? This way when the POT file is translate the custom field values can support the new language?

There isn't currently a standard feature within ClassiPress to allow this, although I know it has been a popular feature request which is up for consideration in a future release. In the meantime, it's really a customization that you would have to make yourself - and whether or not any other member of the CP community has managed to achieve this, I don't know for sure (at least, they haven't shared a tutorial here anyway ;) )..

Thanks for your reply, as always Pepsi. I have this post which makes it sound like this is possible using the WPML plugin. If this actually works, I'm almost there in terms of required feature set. ;)
