Navigation drop-down as tables?

Is it possible to create the drop-down in a fashion that can also be 5X5 or 4X4 or something of the sort?

I am trying to make one with 40 sub-categories, but the single drop-down in hurting me. I was wondering if a table-like navigation for drop-down is in the new version or not ? ( I am still using the old version ).

If you are going that route I recommend creating a mega tab like REI uses. If someone in the community built something like this already, please share. ;-)

A mod like that REI tab dropdown would be sweeeeet.

Yeah, I'm planning on having some sort of option like that in the future. You can see one ClassiPress customer has already done this himself.
