    opt in opt out

    Hello
does the newsletter have an opt in opt out?
if not must do a lot of customization?
Must it be made as a child theme because of updates ?
and when it has to be a child theme how can it than be on the same place as the one included?
I am no PHP Wizard, but here in Germany you must have opt in opt out because of the law

    thanks for answering

Hi Sheridan, as you have probably noticed I am the one who responds to most of the pre-sales threads. I spend time in and out of the forums throughout the day/night, so if you happen to post when I'm online then I can respond right away, but if not, there will be a delay. We aim to respond to all threads within 24 hours, although it is often much sooner than this. Please don't take it personally that you had to wait 3 hours for a response.

As for your questions, there is no newsletter built into Clipper, the theme has a widget you can use for email subscriptions, however you'd actually have to sign up to an email marketing service/program such as aweber in order to make use of this. The functionality itself depends on that service you sign up for as it's not managed within the theme.

You don't "have" to create a child theme if you're making modifications to the theme, however we strongly recommend it because when you do update the theme version, all the files are overwritten. Having a child theme saves you from having to re-do everything from scratch. You can read more about customizing our themes here. Thanks.

    just a little >Tip

when I buy a newsletter system can you just give me a little suggestion of how I could implement it to the theme?
A new page that will be opened?, nice would be if it could take the place of the widget for email....

Thank you so for answering pepsi
    I appreciate very much
sorry for making a bit of a push last time....

No problem ;) As mentioned, the theme itself doesn't offer any actual functionality for newsletters other than the widget which is used for emails signups. This widget can be seen on the Clipper admin demo here. On the right-hand side of the widgets screen, under the heading "Home Page Sidebar", just click on the arrow next to the widget entitled "Coupons in your inbox!" to see the fields you need to complete. All the configuration for the actual email newsletters is handled by the provider you sign up with. e.g. aweber.com, if you visit their site there are links to demos as to how it all works. Hope this helps. thanks.
