I am interested in buying Classipress but have a few questions:

1. You mentioned that the ads are stored in a separate database but according to a friend who owns Classipress all the ads are stored as posts (together with blog posts, etc.).

2. Is there a admin area that allows you to see all the ads listed (not the transaction data) and see data like when the ads expire?

3. Is there a way to collect info from the ad submission form like Name and Address and not display it in the ad listings? This info may be important for an admin but not desirable for showing in the ad.

4. Do you have a captcha for signing up as a member or a double opt in before a password is sent to reduce spam?

1. In previous versions of ClassiPress, yes, ads were located in the same place as blog posts, however since ClassiPress version 3.0.5 we have been making use of WordPress custom post types and taxonomies. Ads are now posted under "Ads" and blog posts are under "Posts". You can read more about this here.

2. Yes, you can see all the ads in your wp-admin under the "Ads" section as seen here in the ClassiPress admin demo, including ad expiry information.

3. With some customization of the theme, you could potentially achieve such a thing, yes.

4. Yes, there is currently a reCaptcha option and you can configure this from the ClassiPress admin (see the "Security" tab of the settings). There are plans in a future release to allow a double opt in process if you prefer to have the customer receive an email for signup.

nice info about Classipress ... looks interesting :) Anyways i was reading about its new release on the website which says "All customers should upgrade to this version and update their WordPress to version 3.1 as well." Are there any upgrade charges or its free ?

Currently if you purchase any of our themes, they include free lifetime updates. We will soon be introducing an annual subscription fee though, so if you happen to buy in too late, then yes you'll need to pay for upgrades. Basically, if you are already an existing customer before the changes come into effect, then you'll continue to receive free lifetime updates as promised.

So quick response .... really amazing ... so i have to be hurry to avoid annual subscription fee :) Thanks for the info Pepsi.
