Pre sales questions

Hi, I have decided to upgrade to Classipress. I can see that this app/theme is big step forward for my business, however while I enjoyed the live demo, when I tried posting an ad, it wouldn't complete. I would like to see what the screen looks like after a customer post an ad. The reason being, the last classified plugin I used didn't have very good Workflow text. I will assume yours is fine.

The other question is, when customers post an ad, and then want to 'share' it to Facebook, what does the shared ad LOOK like on Facebook? Is it pretty? To explain, the last plugin I used was terrible in this regard, it didn't even show the TITLE of the ad much less one of the images from the ad. Does Classipress share well? Does it give the ad title and use one of the photos used for the ad?

I understand that the $99 version is not upgradable. If I buy the $99 version, can I later upgrade to the higher priced (upgradeable) option and just pay the difference, or would I have to put out the whole $149??

Some functions are disabled intentionally on the demo page and so for a fully functioning site you may check some of those that are listed on the Showcase Page http://www.appthemes.com/showcase/?t...ssipress-theme. You may also take note that Classipress is a wordpress theme and not a plugin.

There is no built in option to share an ad on facebook but this can be accomplished through custom modification and or through the use of a plugin. However, there is a built in Facebook integration including an FB "Like" box.

Yes, you will only pay the difference if you upgrade to the next level license package.

Anyone know why there are so many unanswered pre-sale questions? I hesitated paying $200 to Woothemes for their "Listings" app/theme but they've answered ALL of my questions, and in a timely manner. Love to get some feedback on Appthemes.

Yeah, I know man, I kinda felt like that too. And I kicked off a little bit (well, a big bit) about it last week, because I forked out the $250 for the club deal and then realised that the theme I thought was available to club members wasn't ready yet. Their bad, my bad, doesn't matter, I ended up actually apologising to Shannon (the guy who deals with communication stuff) because I said some stuff I shouldn't have. Maybe I purchased early based on a misunderstanding, I dunno, but it's not going to make any difference either way so no point in worrying about it now.

I didn't realise until after I'd purchased - because that's when you can actually get into the forum properly - how bad the answering really is. Go figure. There is some cool stuff going on though, mostly from third-party developers, but I do think, too, that the pre-sales, and probably after-sales, support does really suck.

It's definitely not on par with WooThemes or StudioPress.

What you say is totally valid. I actually read your message yesterday and could have replied with accurate answers to almost everything you ask, but it's not my job.

So... support.... where are you? Sort the guy out for goodness sake :-)

Thanks Paul! From what I can see it looks like a half decent app/theme and it seems they have a lot of customers. It's a learning experience for sure. I've been using AWPCP and the support isn't too bad, but the plugin itself is a bit mickey mouse. Now in saying that I DO think awpcp totes themselves as just that 'a plugin' to enhance your site, so for me, going for a dedicated Classified ads site, I need something better. I honestly think Appthemes may have a really good product here, but as you imply, supportis half the battle and if you're not connecting well with potential customers (or post sale customers) you're going to continue to lose good customers. Thanks for the input.

I have some presales questions as well, I had ordered noahs classifieds, and had a nightmare with them. After almost a month of trying to get to work with nothing working I gave up and try to get a refund with no luck.

A question for you is does your classifieds package, with preconfigured categories and can it be used as classifieds personals job listing and business directory all with one installation if not can I set up as four installations on four subdomains of the same domain under one license?

If I do purchase it how long would it take to set up and get running because I have to get the site up and running in a hurry after wasting a month on noahs classifieds. By the way I read a review of your software would say that noahs was a scam and I recently purchased www.noahsclassifiedsscam.com to expose them after being extremely dissatisfied.

If the staff can't answer any experienced users can that would be fine as I need an answer quickly.

ClassiPress does not come with pre-configured categories, you would need to add these yourself within the wp-admin after the theme is installed. I am aware of customers who have used ClassiPress for job listings and as a business directory (on separate installations), however please bear in mind that the theme is designed primarily for classified ads. You may find that features you expect for the other uses are not part of it, so this could prove to be an issue for you if you are expecting it to work for all three purposes "out of the box", so to speak. In saying this, if you're comfortable with coding then you may not have an issue with working each installation to your liking.

You may wish to check out the ClassiPress demo in order to get a feel for how the ClassiPress theme works, and while in the demo site, you can compare it to our actual Job listing theme JobRoller which is for that intended purpose. In the long run you may find that the AppThemes Club package is a better purchase as it would allow you access to all existing and future themes, with each being more relevant to the purpose you describe.

I know what you mean about the lack of response sometimes but despite of that ClassiPress it is, so far, better than Listings for the purpose of creating a classified ads website based in WordPress.
