Whilst the demo site is fully functional, you cannot save data to it which is why you can't fully complete some of the actions you can on a normal installation. In terms of relisting, once an ad has expired and is sent back to draft mode (unpublished), the customer is sent an email to advise it has expired, with a link to their dashboard to renew it. At that point if it's a paid ad, they'll go through the payment process again and once completed, the ad will once again be published. Thanks.
