I have seen some sites using classipress that have the jquery slider removed, so I'm hoping this is easy to do. Also, if the slider is removed, can it be re-instated at a later date if so desired?
You can deactivate the slider from within the ClassiPress admin dashboard with a simple "yes" or "no" option. No coding required.
Is this a third-party plugin, or a plug in of your own? Asking because it doesn't work properly in Chrome and I'd like to see if that's fixable before buying.

This is built into the theme. I'm not sure what you mean about it not working properly? What problem are you seeing? I'm looking at the ClassiPress demo site in Chrome now and cannot see any issues and there are no known bugs with this either, so any further information would be useful for me to answer your question.
