sorting by the district or town. how?

the theme looks great but i cannot figure out how to sort ads by the town. it is obvious that if i am looking for something to buy i will check ads only from the town where i live. but looking at demo it looks like i have to check every ad hoping i will find one from my town. so the question is, can i sort ads by the town/district/postcode, etc?

There isn't an actual location sort/filter feature at the moment, however you can search for the location itself in the search box which will show the results. Also, if you created the categories around the location you can achieve the same thing..

In a future release of ClassiPress there will be a custom filter widget available to allow this function, and there is also the option to customize it yourself to work this way which is what some of our CP community members have already done.

I am interested in this feature as well. It's good for SEO to be able to browse by city rather than just having search results for city. Google hates having a page of search results listed in their search results, so if you add it, it must be browsable so each city has it's own proper URL.

Hi, there was a Classipress user who (i believe) is also a website developer and he has made an excellent cutomized search bar (still a work in progress) that will allow the site user to search by item, category, and city or zipcode which is great!

For example: Let's say you wanted to find guitars located in the city of Dallas, and by Zipcode (because some cities have muliple zipcodes) you would then be presented with a list of Guitars, located in the City of Dallas with Zipcode xxxxxxx.

I so wish this is done. I'm just wondering how David will sell his directory theme if it hasn't got the feature of being able to browse by business category as well as limiting the search for a particular town/city.
