Specific questions relating to functionality

Hi there,

I am wondering if your theme can satisfy the following requirements I have for a website.

- I want all listings available to the general public to purchase, but listings are only created by "dealers" who I will specify or create membership accounts for. I don't want anybody posting an ad.
- 12 month free membership for "dealers" with a yearly membership price that will be charged rolling over into the second year.
- When a product is sold I deduct a flat fee for the sale depending on the price range, this will be scalable i.e. higher the sale, the higher the fee.

I'm very keen to purchase a theme that can satisfy the above. I'm hoping this will be ClassiPress :)

- With ClassiPress you could certainly restrict registrations and manually set up accounts for dealers only in order to allow them to purchase a subscription/ads. By default only registered users can post ads.
- You can create membership packages which will allow you to set a price for posting unlimited ads for $XX for a time frame determined by you. To allow it to be free initially you could use the AppThemes coupons plugin which they can apply to the initial purchase.
- This is not a default feature of the theme as listings are charged before they are published (not after an item is sold). Actual purchases are not carried out from within the theme so there no way to track this. It would require customization on your part if you were looking to implement such a feature. Thanks.

Thanks for your help. Just had 2 more questions.

If I was to have a 1 day membership (to basically charge someone for posting an ad) and they post an ad, can I define an expiry period for how long that ad will be listed on the site? If you can set the expiry, will the ad be saved if that user purchases another membership to renew it, or will it be deleted?

There's details about having Featured Listings on the homepage, but can you have featured listings at the top of a search or category?

If you want to allow for posting of a single ad you don't need to use the membership option, you can simply create an ad package and then determine price and duration. You can choose whether or not to allow ad renewals. Once the ad is expired, it can be sent back to draft more (unpublished), until the customer chooses to renew it. Featured listings are added to the slider by default, but there are no other options for this, although it is possible in ready made child themes such as Citrus Night in the AppThemes marketplace.
