You really can't beat CL for ease of navigation of its layout and how its site is not "busy"....and I would like to emulate this...examples of sites that have used your theme to do this would be great.....

I looked over a bunch of examples and really didnt see anything that is the direction im looking for....how simple can I make this theme and its components? Is there any way to make the theme mimic the categories and states section that a craigslist has?

Here is a picture for reference.....I want a similar left hand side and a similar right hand side....the only difference is in the middle section I am just having 2-3 categories thats it...or even make the middle a rolling listing section of ads....

It's technically possible to make whatever changes you like to the theme, there is no encryption which would prevent you from making modifications to the layout or functionality so it really comes down to your own (ore developers) level of coding ability.
