If you enable classipress as a new theme on your site users would remain the same. In order to post ads users need the contributor role in classipress. Classipress is using custom post types. If your present themes is using posts for the ads you could convert them via the conversion tool in classipress. So far the theory.

You will most likely experience problems with custom fields. Classipress is using custom fields for price and other fields that you can define in your classipress settings. So I doubt that there will be an easy 1:1 convertion solution.

ok so it's possible but i'll have to go through every post and update the custom fields? Will be time consuming but I think it would be worth it.
