    user registration

    can classipress be set up so users must be registered before they can view any page including listings ?

    This is not a default feature of ClassiPress, so would require customization on your part if you were wanting to implement it into the theme. AppThemes does not offer customization services, however we do have a certified partners page where you can find developers for hire who are experienced at working with our themes if that is what you are seeking.
