Using ClassiPress with existing WP newspaper site

I have recently set up a local newspaper site (http://duxburytimes.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) using the greenthewebnews WordPress theme and want to add classifieds to the site. I have temporarily installed the wpClassified add-on but either need to do extensive mods myself or else get something more capable. That has brought me to ClassiPress.

What I am trying to figure out is how I would go about integrating a ClassiPress classifieds with either the existing thewebnews theme-based site. I just opened an account with bluehost specifically for this site and I do have multiple domain names available for use with it. My working assumtion is that there is not likely to be a very good or easy way to merge the two and that I will need, at least, to use separate directories for the news site and the classifieds, making appropriate links between them. I can also use a different domain name (e.g. duxburytimes.net) for the classifieds if that is necessary (or make things easier).

One further complication is that I am not sure that I will stay with thewebnews WP theme for the newspaper portion of the site, although it looks to be a pretty good starting point.

Can anyone offer any useful observations, advice, etc. that might help me accelerate up my learning curve with this? Thanks!

Super, thanks! Yes, I'd already found that (and a couple of other threads as well). I was hoping, though, that someone might have some newer/additional information or suggestions. Looks, though, like my initial working assumptions were pretty much on the marks. I appreciate your getting back to me though (and still looking forward to getting my discount coupon code - it''s been over 24 hours now for me, as well).

Which host did you choose? Was it Hostgator?

Re: Using ClassiPress with existing WP newspaper site

Nope, bluehost. Here is a copy (text only) of the email I sent to promos@wpclassipress.com on Thursday:

    ClassiPress folks,

This is a forward of my confirmation email from bluehost to obtain the discount coupon for the purchase of ClassiPress at 50% off. I pasted the confirmation email in below rather than as a simple forward because the original contains my bluehost password, so I pasted it in here and x’d out the password. Other than that, it is exactly as received.

The coupon info from the ClassiPress web site from which I clicked through to bluehost to make my purchase is also pasted in below. I am sending a cc: of this message to support at bluehost as well, doubly to confirm that I did indeed come to them via ClassiPress and that they therefore owe ClassiPress the appropriate referral fee. I had, in fact, never even heard of bluehost before finding them on the ClassiPress web site.

My contact information is in my signature block below. Please feel to contact me if you have any questions.

    Thanks!

    All the best,

    will
