Using Vantage as an Events Listings Site

Hello,

You mentioned that Vantage will be like having your own yelp.com site. Yelp has an event listings section. Would I be able to use Vantage as an upcoming events listings site where I can display featured events, today's events, this week's events, this month's events, search by city, speaker, artist, etc?

We don't have these specifics about the theme available yet, but it is being released in the near future so you may wish to follow the AppThemes blog and await the official announcement which should hopefully clarify these questions for you.

Here's an option

I downloaded the beta version, and set it up yesterday. Am using it as a local directory.

At this point you can add an events calendar (plugin) and have that functionality. I am using all in one calendar. Not the perfect solution (have a better one, but can't get it to work with theme), but it does work.

So far, am liking the theme. Hopefully will be released on time.

Could you please specify what you mean here? I am also considering such a solution until this functionality will be implemented in the theme itself as described 2 years ago.

The one I was going to use creates a conflict with the post categories. It's a nice one, but the one I am going to use will work fine. Since this is mainly for listing businesses, the calendar is just an added bonus to draw traffic.

just use vantage, yea theme is not going to have event listings in the first release, but it is confirmed if will be coming soon after.
