Vantage question - map to display close by businesses

I am looking for a feature that will automatically show my visitors related businesses around them.
for example:
1. Visitor is looking for a barber shop in the top search area
2. visitor lands on a barber shop category page
3. visitor sees list of barber shops

What I would like to add is a map in sidebar with locations around user area.
this may need some sort of IP detection or other things.

What you mention in the steps is how the search works, as in, if they search for a barber and don't specify the location, then all barber listings will appear. There isn't a specific map feature built into the theme for what you describe, as it would be assumed that the visitor would enter in the location during the initial search. There is a map related plugin available in the AppThemes Marketplace here which may give you some of the functionality you are looking for, otherwise it would require customization of the default theme on your part.
