What's the Limit to number Listings?

I read that you can upload up to 2500 listings per day.
Why is there such a limit?
Does the site/theme function efficiently if the number business listings grow to, say "Million" records?
Site loading time won't be affected?

Assuming you are referring to the Vantage theme, the limit number you mention relates to Google maps geocode requests (as mentioned on the Vantage admin demo). I am looking for exactly this type of theme for my requirement. But, I may have over 100 K entries to start with and it will grow exponentially. I want to know if this is the possible solution for my needs.

Other than the links provided which give you a more technical idea of whether it's possible with WordPress, we don't really have an example of a Vantage site with such numbers to give you more of an idea of how it will function. We only have sites that are submitted to our customer showcase. Thanks.
