Are yearly upgrades essential?

Is the $29 dollar annual renewal absolutely essential?

If one decides they no longer need to access the forum / or receive support are we able to simply not renew? Now I know this is
mentioned TO AN EXTENT in your FAQ'S......

What isn't made absolutely clear is - if one does NOT renew annually - will the website become in-active and cease to work?

That is the important question, please can somebody clarify this for me. I'd like the option of renewing. However I need to be reassured
that if I do not renew - my site will still function.

The annual subscription fee is optional, so if you decide not to renew your subscription after the initial 12 month period, your site will continue to function with no issues - you'll just no longer be able to access theme updates or have access to the support forums. Thanks :)
