Auto resizing of image

Hi,
I believe the image placed by anyone on ClassiPress is re-sized automatically? Some of the ads on my website www.pakreeads.pk are just fine. Just today a guy placed an ad and its image is all over the main page. I downloaded the image, compressed it many times and again uploaded it but its still out of proportions. Can you please tell me why it isn't being resized automatically?
