Bad update experience
Updated from 3.0.4 – to 3.0.5.1. (“followed to the letter”)
I can’t tell you how disappointed and upset I am.
MAN……there is so many things wrong, it’s not even funny after the update.
1) I’ve 8 photos upload option with the listing. (it is set correctly in admin)
On listing page:
1st – photo upload OK
2 nd upload field is now missing
3 – through 8 is grayed out. Cannot be used to upload.
(Plus when listing edited / modified – only text can be changed - photo can’t be changed. (no option to change or upload another/replace )
- Only option is to delete photo )
That is not good.
3) Front page – (all side bars are disappeared)
(it is set and it shows in admin )
4) New field don’t show on listing form
5) Banner links (adblock) was set to link to sites – now over written to point to (appthemes site) Actually 3.05 – in “adblock” replaced “cp_header_ad” with “appthemes_header_ad” and point the banner link to
www.appthemes.com.
So, what site link enetered for the banner in admin setting – have no effect – it’s points to
www.appthemes.com
6) Custom.css ignored. (since many codes has changed – it practically useless)
Plus even making a shorthand custom css – CP is overwrite it anyway to old style css – I don’t understand why? – Pretty annoying.
7) Suddenly 2 Blog link at footer
And many more…..
The whole thing is just so bad…..very slow with many errors
It was a really bad update experience. I whish I wouldn’t do it
It looks as many issue /bug maybe created with a replacement code of “cp_” with “appthemes_”, because it doesn’t match in many places
Can I just restore back to 3.0.4 – it’s still on the site?
How do I restore the whole things to 3.0,4?
Or, I need to fresh reinstall the whole things?
Advise please.
