categories menu display

I've searched everywhere and surprised to see no one has complaint about this problem but its causing few issues in my site.

Problem: When a user clicks on the categories, it opens up the categories menu but the menu doesn't go away when they click some where else. Is there any quick fix for this? I know its small but really annoying as someone has complained about it.
