    emails not being generated for new users

    can anyone help i am at the last stages before launching my site CP 3.3.3 WP 3.9.1 and when i sign ups new user the custom email does not go out to new user and an alert does not go to admin. also when i disable the CP custom new user email WP does not send one either. Please help.
