    Error: Desert.jpg is not a valid image type (.gif, .jpg, .png)

    Receiving this error when trying to upload an image attachment. The image is small and is a .jpg. I have tried a few formats to no avail. Read on some other posts that it might have to do with the permissions on the wp-content/uploads folders. I have tried 755 and also 777. Any ideas?
