getting a fatal error when trying to add more categories, currently at 12,556 categor

I have now 12,556 categories and getting htis fatal error insode the my wp-admin page

Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 65798144) (tried to allocate 1269469 bytes) in /home/rpmb1zgr/public_html/kampus/wp-includes/category-template.php on line 405

I cannot create any more listings. i have edited and saved the line of code so my site looks right, but now when I click on a main category, I no longer get the previous error message, but now nothing shows.
