Making More Money Through Classipress

Hi i cant Help but feel that a major potential money spinner is being over looked by the classipress theme and i am trying to figure out how to include it/ get round it.

Basically my business plan for my site has gone as follows

1> charge minimally (if at all) for clients to post classified adverts,
2> using this strategy i have built up large numbers of site visitors/ members
3> Now i intend to use these vistor/ member stats to approach external advertisers to advertise on the site (e.g in the sidebars, headers etc etc). It is from these non classified adds that i know i can make good money (thanks to my good visitor figures).

The problem is however that for this plan to work i need to be able to target where my adverts appear.

e.g
Lets say i have a classified add category for 'second hand Gym equipment'.

I can demonstrate to gyms, personal trainers, etc etc that there are 100 visitors a day to this category. These clients are obviously interested in their health and want to get fit and thus represent 'qualified leads' to these industry sectors.

I have easily been able to sell advertising to these gym, p.t companies etc to advertise on my site but obviously i now need these adverts to appear next to the classifieds for the correct category (no point in having gym ads appear in the washing machine section)

So basically what i require (and i guess many others would be interested to) is a dynamic sidebar (in which i will place my adverts) that is able to display different content linked to the advanced search criteria.


1, when someone searches for 'gym equipment' the adds relevant for that category will appear.

However this is a national site and to really maximise profits i need to be able to sell advertising on a regional level! I know i can replicate the above marketing plan over and over to the many different regions for my many different categories, with serious earning potential.

So next requirement is:

2, when someone searches for gym equipment in 'example' region adverts that are specific to that category in that region region are displayed in the sidebar.

Originally i thought this may be impossible but then using advanced search you are able to pull/ display the relevant classifieds for a certain category in a certain region so surely it must be possible to pull a dynamic sidebar also?


Would be really interested to hear peoples thoughts.
