Problems using the old site database with the new version
Hello, I am using the version 2.9.2 of the classipress and I wish to upgrade my theme to the version 3.0.4. The problem is that there is great difference in the way the new version handles the custom fields.
In my older version(2.9.2) I added some custom fields and everything was fine. e.g. if I created a field named "location" then it got saved in the wp_postmeta table. Now, when I add a new custom field in the new version(3.0.4) it is saved by the name of "cp_location" with a prefix "cp_" with it.
There are a number of problems now:
1. How do I do the custom searching in the new theme as I already have lots of ads/listings (approx. 8,000) on my site?
2. In the new version of the theme(3.0.4) it uses 2 fields state and city instead of 1 field location. How do I synchronize the new listings with the old ?
3. Similarly there are other fields in which I face issues.
Are there any alternate to upgrade/migrate all the posting from 2.9.2 to 3.0.4. Or is there any tool to upgrade the database or simply export/import the ads? Please let me know ? Open to all types of solutions/suggestions. Also please let me know the url of the post if this has been asked before as I did not get it after lots of search.
