Proper settings for wp-mail-smtp?, sellers not getting all emails

Hi everyone,
I spoke with my host..All seems fine on their end. I was not receiving ad inquiries via the contact tab. I was using the default php email. Only about 60% of the emails came through. I read in the forum to DL and use WP-mail plugin and its smtp setting. I'm still not getting all of the inquiries. Can someone tell me the settings I should be using with this plug in.
Did anyone else experience this?
