    Prune function with XML import

I have an XML import that includes ALL of our ad listings sent to our site daily. Currently there are manual settings on the import that allow for the information to be overwritten. How do I change all repeated ad listings going to draft when imported. If I turn off the prune function the ads don't go into draft. But when the prune function is on the expired ads don't go to draft. Is there a place in Classipress settings where I can keep "updated" imported files from going to draft and keep the prune function on?
