URL Nightmare. Login and logout re-directing to incorrect URL

ok so far I have the site up and running the best its been.

when someone logs in with facebook, it DOES log them in but it redirects to an incorrect URL and gets a 404 page not found error (NOT a "whoops" error)

here's the senario:

this is the address for the dashboard:
http://goreyadverts.com/index.php/dashboard/
and that works fine

when someone logs in with facebook, it redirects them to:
http://goreyadverts.com/dashboard/
which gives a 404 error

whilst still on the 404 error page, if you edit the URL to show:
ttp://goreyadverts.com
you will discover that the facebook user HAS indeed been logged in

but now they cannot log out, because when they press log out it redirects to:
http://goreyadverts.com/dashboard/
and they get a 404 message again



My permalink structure is custom set to: /index.php/%postname%/
and everything else works fine


how do i make it so facebook brings the user to the right URL?

in my facebook app, should the site URL be http://www.goreyadverts.com or should it be http://www.goreyadverts.com/index.php/ ?

ive tried both with no luck

should the domain field really be blank?

This whole facebook thing is doing my nut in, I havent been abale to get it to work since its initial release, in fact i haven't been able to go live with my site since i purchased it because of this.

please please please please please can someone help me?
