What registration plugin to use?

Hi,

I added the suggested New User Email Setup plugin but deactivated this when I couldnt edit the from field and upon reading other threads that this plugin may no longer be suited to classipress.

I've now added Register Plus (as a mod suggested) but am having problems. I registered a new user and then followed the email verification link to login. I enter the username and password (that I have created) but it keeps returning the message: Error: Invalid Username.

Help...anyone??
